Office Hours: 24 Hour Center
Purpose: The E-911 Center has been in operation since March
of 1997. We employ a staff of 18; 15 full time, 3 part time
dispatchers. The dispatchers handling the emergency calls are
well-trained and dedicated professionals. They must complete
an in house training period of twelve weeks and a 40 hour dispatcher
course at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center. |

The Center's dispatchers handle on the average 4,500 911 calls in a
30 day period. The dispatchers must effectively track the
status and location of the on-duty emergency units.
A
modern Computer Aided Dispatch system within the center helps the
dispatcher's process and distributes the Calls-for-Service.
